If you've ever searched for "best VPN" or "fastest VPN", you've seen the problem: dozens of review sites all showing slightly different speed results, usually based on a single test conducted months ago, presented as if those numbers represent the VPN's current performance.
We built VPNSpeedTest because we wanted VPN speed data that actually means something. Not a screenshot from six months ago. Not a single best-case result. Real, continuously-collected performance data that updates in real time and gives you an honest picture of what a VPN actually delivers.
Our testing infrastructure runs 24/7 without human intervention. The same automated process tests every server under the same conditions, eliminating bias and cherry-picking.
Speed results update in real-time on our site. When you check a server's speed, you're seeing its current performance averaged across hundreds of tests, not a static number from a single session.
We show everything: averages, peaks, reliability rates, and failures. We don't hide bad results. If a server has 60% reliability, you'll see that. Read our full methodology.
Our testing code runs on its own infrastructure. No VPN provider has access to our systems, can influence our results, or gets advance notice of when we test.
VPNSpeedTest is funded through affiliate partnerships. When you click a "Get Surfshark Deal" link and purchase a subscription, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This revenue pays for our server infrastructure, bandwidth, and development time.
Our commitment: Affiliate relationships never influence our data. Our testing systems are fully automated — the code that runs speed tests and records results has no awareness of affiliate agreements. We report what we measure, period.
We believe this model works because it aligns incentives: we only make money if you trust our data enough to make a purchase. Publishing inaccurate or biased results would undermine the very trust that makes this site useful.
